Van Nistelrooy play as forward. His debut was in the FC Den Bosch in the season 1993/1994 in the second division of Holland.
He was transfered to Heerenveen in 1997, and in that team scored thirteen goals. In 1998, the PSV signed to Van Nistelrooy that cost 4,2 millions of dollars. That season was top goal scorer with thirty-one goals. He was injured of his knee and was a year of rehabilitation.
In 2001 was signed for Manchester United and cost 19 millions of dollars. His first season in the Manchester scored thirty-six and the second season forty-four.
The 2002 was top goal scorer of the champions league in Europe.
The season 2003/2004 scored his goal number 100 as player of Manchester and he finished the season with twenty-eight goals.
In 2006/2007 was signed for Real Madrid. In this season his team won the Spanish League and he was top goal scorer.
The eighteen of november of 1998 he debuted with team of Holland and too played in the World Championship of Germany 2006
